Now, Monaragala students complain of itching

Several grade 5 students of Athimale Maha Vidyalaya in Monaragala under the purview of Siyambalanduwa Zonal Education office were admitted to Siyambalanduwa Rural Hospital on Monday after complaining of itching.

Seven students were warded at the hospital while the others left after treatment.

Red patches appeared in their skin.

A teacher said two children complained of itching around noon and she advised them to take a wash. She said even after a wash the scratching did not decrease.

The teacher said the incident was reported to the Principal who admitted the children to hospital.

A hospital spokesman said the condition of the students was not serious.
