University admission of 'Z-score students' from March

The 2011 Advanced Level students who faced the Z-score issue will be admitted to the universities from March 15, 2013, Higher Education Minister S. B. Dissanayake said in Parliament yesterday.

He made this observation joining the Budget 2013 committee stage debate under the Heads of the Higher Education. The minister further stated that 5,800 additional students who were inconvenienced by the Z-score issue will be admitted to universities.

Dissanayake said that it was not an easy task to accommodate such a large number of additional students.

However, the admission will commence from March 15, 2013. He also said that the promises made to the university lecturers that were agreed upon with FUTA will be met.
