MoU signed to foster trade ties
A meeting between the business communities of Sri Lanka and
Kazakhstan was held in Astana yesterday with emphasis on promoting
closer relations in the field of trade. The meeting was organised by the
Chambers of Commerce of Sri Lanka and Kazakhstan.
President Mahinda Rajapaksa and a large number of businessmen
representing the two countries participated in this forum where the two
Chambers entered into a Memorandum of Understanding on bilateral trade
promotion.
Under this MoU, the two Chambers will strive to maintain a conducive
environment for businessmen to indulge in trade between the two
countries.
The MoU is also aimed at promoting commercial, industrial and service
sectors between the two countries. The two Chambers will also act as
facilitator for holding exhibitions and seminars aimed at promoting
trade relations between the two countries.
