Outstanding performances by Police taekwondo players

Sri Lanka Police Team emerged champions, claiming 25 medals at the 9th Korean Trophy Taekwondo Championship which concluded at St.Joseph's College Sports Complex recently. Sportsmen and women from Sri Lanka Army, Navy, Air Force, Police and 16 more sports clubs participated in the event.

The victorious Police team consisted of players from Police Special Task Force and Police Training College, Kalutara.

They bagged seven gold medals, five silver medals and 13 bronze medals. The Policewomens team which consisted of athletes from the Police Training College Kalutara, won the Womens Overall Championships. W.P.S.Hettiarachchi of Special Task Force (STF) captained the team and K.K.A.T.Ruwansiri of STF and Kumara de Silva of Police Training College coached the team under the supervision of Korean Coach Ho Jung Lee.

The Sri Lanka Army team was adjudged as the overall runners-up.
