More Sisu Sariya buses in Wayamba

The National Transport Commission (NTC) will deploy 100 new buses in Wayamba under the Sisu Sariya programme.

All bus services will be ceremonially added to the fleet for operations from today under the patronage of Private Transport Services Minister C B Ratnayake and Road Passenger Transport Authority, Wayamba Province chairman Thusitha de Silva.

The NTC arranged this programme along with the Road Passenger Transport Authority - Wayamba Province. The Sisu Sariya programme commenced in 2005 and 917 school bus services are already functioning throughout the country, sources said. The project's objective is to provide a proper school transport service to students for a nominal fee and to minimise traffic congestion during school hours.
