All facilities for rural schools - Minister Basil

Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa yesterday said the
government's programme to develop three secondary schools in every
Divisional Secretariat division in the country will help students in
rural schools enjoy the facilities available in popular schools.
A science laboratory and four storied building complex of
Mahinda Rajapaksa Model school, Diyagama was opened by
Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa yesterday.

He said that the government is dedicated to provide all facilities to
schools in the country. Speaking at the opening of a four storied
building complex and a science laboratory of the Mahinda Rajapaksa Model
School at Diyagama, Homagama, Minister Rajapaksa said the government
made special focus on the development of secondary and primary schools
in the country.
He said the Mahinda Rajapaksa school in Diyagama has made many
achievements due to the dedication of all stakeholders.
The Minister added that the Mahinda Rajapaksa School in Diyagama is
being developed as a model school. "It is President Mahinda Rajapaksa's
wish to provide all facilities to all schools and the Government's
program to develop primary and secondary schools in the country is being
implemented with this concept in mind", he said.
Minister Rajapaksa also lauded Education Minister Bandula Gunawardena
for his services to uplift the education sector. He said the Minister is
visiting every school in the country to inquire about the problems faced
by them.
Education Minister Bandula Gunawardena, Western Provincial Minister
Upali Kodikara and Education Ministry Secretary Gotabhaya Jayaratne were
also present.
