Harris Ceylon introduces range of paint brushes

Haris Ceylon (Pvt) Ltd (HC) of L. G. Harris and Co. Ltd introduced a
new range of paint brushes for the upcoming Christmas season.

Director Operation, Rajeev John told the Daily News Business,
recently that this step was taken to revolutionize the paint brush
industry thus motivating to build the profile of a painter to a higher
standard.
“To attract the younger generation the industry has introduced NoLoss,
Flexi Brush, Down to Earth, Texture Rollers and many of their products,”
he said.
These brushes suit clients of all types, HC has brushes for left
handers eco friendly brushes made by recycling old brushes and plan on
having plastic handles for all their products of brushes reducing the
wood usage.
HC currently holds 80- 85% of the entire decorative tool market in
Sri Lanka thus meeting ends due each year.
“The Harris Classic brush commands more than 50% of the market while
the other main brushes Budget and E-zy commands 35% and 10% of the
market respectively,” John said.
HC has introduced a 'do it yourself' for customers with numerous
brush lines along with extension poles that extend up to 15 feet,
significantly reducing the cost for scaffolding as well as a range of
scrapers, gloves, rollers, trays, sandpapers, measuring tapes and
providing a complete gamut of decorative tools spanning over 2,000
products.
John also said that this season they wish to promote themselves as
community workers, thus working for the betterment of the painters in
Sri Lanka.
The have started an association for painters three years ago and has
been conducting training secessions for painters throughout the country
and awarding them certificates that make the job market recognize them
as professional painters.
“We do everything free for the painters and provide them with
equipment and jobs with a monthly pay, by assigning them to different
co-operates and organizations where they could be permanent workers,” he
said.
John firther stated that it is good for their company as the painters
promote their products to their client and thus benefit on both ways.”
At HC we provide equal working opportunities, as we have several
differently abled workers in our work stations,”he said.
They also plan on providing railway gates for unguarded railways in
the years ahead, as plans are still under discussion. |
