Mercantile Athletic Meet today and tomorrow

The 29th Annual Mercantile Athletic Meet will be held today and tomorrow at the Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo.

The Mercantile Athletic Meet is open to employees of the private sector and caters to both men and women in all age groups covering the novices, masters and championship categories and this year's meet will see nearly 1200 athletes representing 50 companies competing.

The two-day event will consist of 312 events and the armed forces will involve in a friendly tug-o-war event according to the Executive Committee of the Mercantile Athletic Federation.

As a special feature of this year's championship, the champion athletes of every age group will be specially rewarded.
