Southern Provincial Director of Education Kithsiri Liyanagamage on
instructions from Southern Provincial Education Minister Chandima
Rasaputra requested the Southern Province Deputy Inspector of Police to
initiate immediate investigations into an alleged incident of the
unlawful release of the 2012 third term Maths question papers of Grades
9 and 10 to a number of private tuition class masters in Matara and
Galle districts prior to the test.
The Maths test for grades 9 and 10 students of the province was held
at all schools in the province yesterday.
A special investigation carried out into the alleged incident, on
information received by the Provincial Education Director from the
public, revealed that several private tuition class masters in
Walasmulla, Mulatiyane, Matara, and Ambalangoda had given the question
papers ahead of the test and tried the question paper in full with their
students at private classes a day before the test.
Education officers who conducted the investigation into the incident
confirmed that the papers out ahead of the test, were similar to papers
prepared by the Provincial Ministry.
Rasaputra said officials responsible for the offence would be
severely dealt with. |
