Tea factory owners educated on energy consumption

The Tea Research Institute (TRI) will conduct awareness programmes for tea factory owners on energy conservation. The first of these awareness programmes titled "Save money through energy conservation" organized by the Sri Lanka Tea Research Institute and the Sustainable Energy Authority was held at the BMICH on Thursday.

TRI sources said tea factory owners require large amounts of energy for their factories which is a heavy burden on their finances.

Similar programmes are planned for Chief Executive Officers of the tea plantation companies and private sector tea industrialists.

This is one of the programmes which was commenced under the National Energy Conservation Programme launched by the Sustainable Energy Authority.
