Devapatiraja Balika Maha Vidyalaya, Ratgama and Rohana Balika
Vidyalaya both schools from down South clinched the ‘Milo’ girls cup
titles at the under 18 and under 20 age category in the tournament which
was held at the Public Grounds Ruwanwella on November 10.
Devapathiraja Balika MV beat Seethawaka National College 25 points to
5 while Rohana Balika MV beat Nugawela Central by 22 points to 5 which
was witnessed by enthusiastic parents and rugby lovers who came from all
parts of the Island.
In the under 18 age category the plate was won by St.Mary’s College
Yatiyantota who beat Sir John Kotelawala MV 15 points to 5 while the
Bowl was won by Talduwa Buddhist College who received a walk over.
In the Under 20 age category the plate was won by Seethawaka National
College who beat Dehiowita M/V 15 points to 5 while the Bowl was won by
St’ Mary’s College, Yatiyantota who beat Sir John Kotelawala M/V 12
points to 5.
One hundred and thirty participants from Under 18 and 20 schools took
part in the grand finale.
This tournament was sponsored by Nestle Lanka Ltd the producers of
the nutritious drink Milo and organized by the Sri Lanka Schools Rugby
Football Association SLSRFA. |
