Lankan netballers ready for Singapore challenge

The Asian Netball Championship runner-up Sri Lanka will battle it out
with much confidence in the forthcoming Nations Cup Championship in
Singapore, Sports Ministry media sources revealed. Tharjini Sivalingam
and Gayathri Lankathilake will guide a team of 13 netballers including
three substitutes. There are four replacements to the Asian Championship
runner-up team .
The Sports Minister approved team for the Nations Cup includes,
Tharjini Sivalingam, Gayathri Kankathilaka ( co- captains ), K B K
Semini Alwis, P K Samanthi Nilusha, Manisha Fernando, J A V
Priyadarshani Jayasoriya, Gayani Dissanayake, Thisala Tharini Algama, N
W A Sewwandi Tharaka, S A Dulani Erandika, B Hasith Mendis, U G Sureka
Kumari and (substitutes) P Ashwini, B T G D Dharshani Abeykoon, P Visna
K Fernando.
The Nations Cup will be held in Singapore from December 2-8 with the
participation of six countries including Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Namibia,
Ireland, Tanzania and hosts, Singapore.
