Commemorative coin marks SL - Japan diplomatic ties

The Central Bank will issue a silver commemorative coin with a face value of Rs 1,000 to mark the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and Japan. This is the 57th in the series of commemorative coins issued by the Bank. It is minted by Japan Mint on the Japanese government's request.

The coin was officially handed over to President Mahinda Rajapaksa by Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal yesterday.
