CCI launches its third trade fair website

The Chamber of Construction Industry, Sri Lanka (CCI), launched its
third edition of the Construction Industry Trade and Business Directory.
Originally published in 2006, the third Edition has been more
comprehensive and is a reflection of the state of the Construction
Industry in the country. The CCI also launched the CCI website which was
the direct and updated hotline to the stakeholders and the general
public. Any person who requires information concerning CCI activities
and its members, could reach on www.ccisrilanka.org
S. N. Wijepala, Founder Vice President of the CCI during 2001-2012,
who retired in January 2012 was also felicitated at the ceremony and
awarded a memento for his dedicated services to the CCI. Wijepala is the
current President of the Institute of Values, Sri Lanka. The CCI
officially launched the Construction Industry Exhibition and Trade Fair,
BUILD SL-2013 to be held at the BMICH for the eighth successive years -
May 2013. The Exhibition and Fair would be presented in a novel format
with the participation of stakeholders representing different sectors of
the Domestic Construction Industry.
The ‘Impact of Globalization to Enhance the Local Construction
Industry Dimensions,” would be the theme of the Exhibition. In
accordance with the theme, the Exhibition would provide opportunities to
local companies to promote themselves as potential service providers to
the International arena. The Chief Guest at the Launch was Basil
Rajapaksa, Minister of Economic Development and Wimal Weerawansa,
Minister of Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common
Amenities and Thilanga Sumathipala, Member of Parliament were the Guests
of Honour. |
