Sinnathuray appointed member of NCRS
Rajah Sinnathuray, motoring personality for well over 50 years was
appointed to the National Council for Road Safety (NCRS) by the Minister
of Transport Kumara Welgama.

having raced in Madras, Bangalore and Koimbaththur.

He has been President of the Automobile Association of Ceylon under
the leadership of G Wignaraja, Justice O L de Kretzer and served with
Justice C Sinnathamby, Nevielle Samarakoon, one time (Chief Justice),
Nimal Karunathilaka Minister of Finance, Newton Samarasinghe, P B
Rathnayake - Chairman Peoples Bank and was the youngest member in the
Executive Committee and served on four occasions as the President of he
Automobile Association of Ceylon and was Vice President and Executive
Committee Member on many occasions.
He has held many positions as President Ceylon Motorcycle Club,
Secretary Ceylon Motor Sports Club and President of Controlling body for
Motor Sports in this country, President of Ceylon Society for the
prevention of accidents (Cespa) on many occasions.
He was with Colonel Tabby Murrel and Edward Mason Past President
Mitsubishi Motors Club and was in the organizing committee of the Old
Crocks Rally Colombo road races and Grand Prix Motor races held at
Katunayake.
Manager Sri Lanka Motor Racing Team to India appointed on the
selection committee for Motor Sports by Minister of Sports Nanda Mathew.
Was a member of the first Western Provincial Council under the Chief
Minister Susil Moonasinghe.
Past President Ceylon Anglers' Club, Past Chairman Colombo South
Coorperative Society, Past Chairman St John Ambulance, Director Grand
Oriental Hotel (Taprobane) and many other social clubs and associations.
He will represent Ceylon Society of Prevention of Accidents (Cespa).
He has an unblemished record and served the Automobile Association of
Ceylon as a member for well over 47 years. |
