Joes take major honours

and Malshan Fernando (35) of St. Joseph’s College Colombo to take major
honours in the first day of their rain affected inter schools under 19
cricket match played at Kandana yesterday.

D.S.Senananyake College spelled up a massive 197 runs for seven
wickets with the help of Binura Fernando(46), Supun Madusanka(44), Uvin
Bandara (27) in rain inturrupted their under 19 match played against
Trinity College Kandy at Surrey Grounds, Maggona yesterday

Thurstan pile up 287
Thurstan College piled up a gigantic 287 runs with the help of their
hard hitting batsmen Mohammed Jaleel (94), Kavindu Kulasekara (57),
Avishka Peiris(33) and Sahan Dissanayake (32).in their under 19 cricket
match against Prince of Wales College Moratuwa which ended in a draw at
Thurstan Road yesterday.
In reply to the Thurstanites, Prince of Wales scored 211 for four in
42 overs thanks to fine knocks by Ashen Mendis 46 (not out) , Thanuka
Dulaj 36(not out) and Sachira Fernando(31).
The Thurstanites couldn’t bat the second innings due bad light .
