Dasun and Kasun excel for Vidyartha

Top performances by the twins from Vidyartha College Dasun and Kasun Nawaratne helped them to score a first innings win over Kegalu Vidyalaya in their inter-school cricket match concluded at the Open Prison Camp grounds, Pallekele yesterday.

When Vidyartha College batted it was the elder of the twins Kasun Nawaratne who held the innings together with a fine knock of 72 not out which included 7 fours and a six facing 162 balls. This knock helped Vidyartha College to score 162 all out.

Medium pacer Hashan Tillakaratne took 4 for 32.

When Kegalu Vidyalaya batted they faced the bowling of their opponents too much and their strong batting line up crumbled to 96 all out after batting for 52.2 overs.

Left arm spinner Lahiru Jayasuriya took 5 for 25 and Dasun Nawaratne had figures of 4 for 28 playing a supporting role to his twin brother Kasun in Vidyartha’s first innings triumph.
