Navy helps to transfer flood-hit

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Thambapanni of the North-western
Naval Command transferred 153 persons affected by rising water levels of
Thabbowa reservoir in Karuwalagaswewa, Puttlam on Thursday, the Navy
Media Unit said.
The Navy used three fiber glass dinghies to transfer those affected,
which included 31 males, 78 females and 44 children.
Eight among those evacuated had physical disabilities, the media unit
said. |
