'Lankan workers help boost Korean economy'

The contribution made by over 23,000 Sri Lankan workers helped uplift
Korean economy, National Assembly of Korea Health and Welfare Committee
chairman Oh Jae Sae said.
He was speaking at the opening of the Preliminary Care Unit of the
Tangalle Hospital funded by the Korea Foundation for International
Healthcare on Tuesday.
The PCU concept enforced in many hospitals in the world helps ease
the congestion in general wards.
This is the second PCU funded by the Foundation.
He said the opening of PCU with Korean support at Tangalle - the home
town of President Mahinda Rajapaksa is a significant event.
Oh Jae Sae said the opening of new wing at the hospital took place at
a time that two countries celebrate 35 years since establishment of
diplomatic relations. Member of Health and Welfare Committee of the
National Assembly Kim Hee-Kuk , President of the Korea Foundation for
International Healthcare Lee Soo-Ku and Korean ambassador in Sri Lanka
Jongmoon Choi were present. |
