"We've worked hard on this brand of coffee for the past six months
and have also tried over 20 blends with industry experts locally and
from abroad and we've gone through as many packaging options and a100 or
more labels to get this right,'' Ifthikar Zaruk, Managing Director of
Spizee Foods (Pvt) Ltd. said. "Our production team includes experts in
the field of agriculture, food science and food technology and we are
proud to launch a product with a unique name that symbolizes the
historic town and the rich archaeological heritage from which it
emanates,'' he further commented.
"Spizee Foods, which had carved a niche in the Food and Beverage
Industry for its freshly ground fragrant spices, would be infiltrating
several trade outlets in the greater Colombo, Gampaha, Galle and Kandy
districts in an expansion plan in December 2012,'' Sales Manager Andreen
de Silva said.
"Spizee Foods Pvt Ltd. had ventured into the commercial industry
nearly seven months ago and we have looked through a lot of products
that would complement our range and wanted a product that would carry a
beautiful representation of our country. So we aimed to produce a unique
coffee with a Sri Lankan identity. We are a small company and we have an
investment of Rs.6 million for this venture," Ifthikar Zakur said.
He further mentioned that Sri Lanka had no niche product in local
coffee and the company's main aims in this production was to understand
their competitors, understanding their coffee drinker's psychographics
and producing creative ideas that would assist in moving forward. |
