Public can link up with IGP via e-mail

Inspector General of Police N K Illangakoon had set up a special unit for the convenience of the public. The public now can contact the IGP on E Mail - [email protected] to complaint any of their problems.

Prompt action will be taken for these complaints IGP Illangakoon said. Any accidents within Colombo division could be informed to the Police on 011- 2433333. In an emergency the public could contact the Police Department on 1-1-9 to obtain assistance. The IGP’s public assistance unit is opened from 6 a.m to 10 p.m. During this period the public could contact the IGP’s special unit to make any of complaints.

This special unit Telephone Numbers are -011- 2444480, 011- 2444481 and 011- 2444482.

This special unit is prepared to assist the public on any situation within the law.
