Wilson Gunaratne's Charitha Atak
International acclaimed actor and Charitha Hathak famed Wilson
Gunaratne's newest creation Charitha Atak would go on boards at the
Borella - YMBA on November 3 at 3.30 pm and 7 pm.
The story rotates around an aircraft which has been grounded for the
past 64 years, unable to be airborne due to the obstacles to the
development programme. It gives a clear picture about opportunities,
time servers and very bad bureaucracy. The play gives a clue to the
present pilot and his crew members that, if the appropriate well
designed plans could be implemented, the dreamland aircraft could be
airborne to make a successful and a comfortable journey to the
passengers who have been looking forward for a safe journey from
February 4, 1948.
Questioning Wilson Gunaratne about the eight character explained, "I
have done a very deep study about world politics. I think it is very
appropriate at this juncture to bring a very suitable character as a
eighth character in to the play. I invite the theatre lovers to come and
identify the eighth character by themselves.
The cast includes Wilson Gunaratne (in 8 different characters),
Gamini Hettiarachchi, Keerthi Bandara, Harry Wimalasena, G Chandrathilak,
Premaratne Thennakoon, Kasun Chamara, Suresh Wettasinghe, Lanka
