CPC session suspended due to member’s protest

The Central Provincial Council sessions were abruptly suspended by
Deputy Chairman W M Yasamana yesterday due to Councillor Tilak
Rajapaksha climbing onto the House table and making a protest against
the chairman of the Private Transport Authority.
He said the chairman of the Private Transport Authority was
interdicted and remanded over a complaint of bribery. He stated it was
illegal and asked the Chief Minister to have him properly dealt with
regarding the issue.
After a short break, the sittings commenced again and Rajapaksha
continued his protest. The chairman suspended sittings and once again.
