SPC cricket champions

The State Printing Corporations emerged champions of the " Asidisi" Cricket Championship organized by Ministry of Mass Media and Information held at the Shalika Grounds Narahenpita for the fifth successive year in which 37 teams took part.

The Independent Television Network who entered the final scored 63 runs for six in eight overs .

In reply the State Printing Corporation knocked off the required runs for no loss in just 2.4 overs which helped them to secure the Championship.

The Champion SPC team was led by Manoj Basnayake and comprised of Dhanushka Lakmal, Dharshana Suranga, Chaminda Udayakumara , Sanjeewa Karunaratne, Sampath Lalinda, Sidath Samarasinghe, Charith Priyadarshana, Sampath, Chamara Madusanka, Dilan Kuruppu, Suresh Kumara, Gayan Sanjeewa ,Tharaka and Prabath.

Sanjeewa Karunaratne of the State Printing Corporation had the honour of being adjudged as the man of the match of the final and the best batsman and best fielder award of the tournament winning four awards altogether .

The chief guest at the tournament was the Secretary of the Ministry of Mass Media and Information Dr.Charitha Herath
