Royal take major honours in Galle

Two superb centuries by Heshan Kumarasiri(106) and Milan Abeysekara
(101) helped Royal College, Colombo 7 to pile up a massive 326 and take
major honours in their under 19 match against Mahinda College, Galle
which ended in a draw at Mahinda Grounds Galle on Wednesday.
Royal, taking the first lease of the wicket, piled up a huge 326 runs
for eight wickets in 72 overs. Heshan Kumarasiri knocked a a fine
century (106) while Milan Abeysekara contributed with another
century(101).Chalana de Silva captured three wickets for 88 runs and
Pasindu Dilshan bagged three wickets for 48 runs.
In reply, Mahinda College scored 239 runs in 92 overs. Chalana de
Silva (67) and Nilanka Laksiri (56) contributed with half centuries.
Eranga Sampath hit 32 runs while Binuk Waduge scored 24 runs.Left arm
leg spinner Harith Samarasinghe was the most impressive among the
bowlers with five for 54.
Royalists in their second innings spelled a fine 121 for two wickets
thanks to the fine knocks by Hashen Ramanayake(50 not out) and Sampath
de Silva (31 not out).
