Lohan Ratwatte was appointed as the President of the Kandy District
Sports Development Foundation at a meeting held at the District
Secretary's Office, Kandy presided by Gamini Seneviratne, the Government
Agent and the District Secretary, Kandy recently.
Lohan is a Member of Parliament of the Kandy District and he
succeeded his late father, General Anuruddha Ratwatte for this post. An
Old Boy of Trinity College, Lohan represented the School in Rugby and
Athletics and he played as a flanker in the Rugby team and went on to
represent Kandy CC as a flanker at the Clifford Cup tournament for a
number of years.
The Governor of Central Province, Tikiri Kobbekaduwa, Chief Minister
(CP) Sarath Ekanayake, Minister of Sports, Mahindananda Aluthgamage were
appointed as Patrons of the Sports Foundation. Sunil Munasinghe, former
Director of Sports (CP) was appointed as the Deputy President and the
Director of Sports of the Education Dept. Kandy Gamini Obeysekera was
appointed as the Sports Cordinator. |
