Nalanda, Christ Church joint champs

Nalanda College Colombo held Christ church college, Matale to thrilling scoreless draw to finish as joint champions at the all island schools boys under 13 hockey championship organized by the Sri Lanka schools Hockey Association and played at the Asigriya Stadium, Kandy yesterday.

Right from the start both teams played attacking hockey but the defence put up was found to be too hard to penetrate in the.

P.C.S. Banadra of Christ Church college, Matle was adjudged the most outstanding player of the tournament while Sudera Sachinthara of Nalanda college as adjudged the best goal keeper.

St. Thomas college Matale clinched the third spot by defeating Maris Stella College Negombo by winning the loses final 3-1.

Dhamikka Abeyratne G.K. Ekanayake umpired the finals.

Nalanda College beat Sri Sumangala College 1-0

St. Thomas college Matale beat Kingswood College 1-0 (Christ Church college beat prince of Wales College 2-0 (Maris Stella College beat Ananda College 1-0.

Nalanda College beat St. Thomas’ Ccollege 2-0
Christ Church college beat Maris Stella College 2-1
