Ten heritage protectors to be honoured

The National Heritage Ministry will felicitate 10 citizens who dedicated themselves to protect the country's heritage, National Heritage Ministry Senior Additional Secretary Vijitha Nanda Kumara said.

The ministry will felicitate scholars who performed a dedicated service to protect the country's cultural heritage, he said.

The scholars will be selected by a committee comprising Prof P D Nandadeva, Prof Gamini Adikari, Dr Saroja Wettasinghe, Dr Nanda Wickramasinghe, Dr Senarath Dissanayake and Prof Sarath Manawadu.

The first ceremony of this felicitation programme will be held on October 22.
