Kerala Ganja racket busted

A man operating a large scale Kerala Ganja racket was arrested by the Customs Narcotics Unit at the Bandaranaike International Airport yesterday. Custom officials also seized over 4.5 kilogrammes of Kerala Ganja valued at Rs 700,000 along with the suspect.

The ganja had been packetted along with cardamom, Customs Superintendent Nihal Alahapperuma said. The suspect, a businessman from Negombo, had travelled to India 37 times during the past three years.

Investigations are continuing.
