Stylish Garments modernises to broaden functions

Stylish Garments Group of Companies who weathered all varieties of problems in the garments industrial field, has emerged victorious and is now girding itself to modernize their factory complex and broaden their functions.

Under this modernization programme, a new generation of machinery as well as State-of-the-Art technologies and production strategies are to be infused in creating a higher number of employment oppertunities in establishing factories a-new.

The final aim of this exercise is to up-grade the standards and quality of products, while increasing production capacities of the Stylish Garments Group of factories.

Initiated in1989 with a single garment factory, Stylish Garments today is a massive manufacturing organization that comprises of two factories in Padukka and Poruwadanda in the Horana electorate and two factories at Homagama. It is scheduled to inaugurate a new modern factory at Udahamulla, Padukka in which the latest machinery, technologies and production facilities would come into force.

Stylish Garments Group of Companies has won acclaim as the entity that pays the highest salaries amongst the garment industries in the South East Asian sector and is known for its administrative strategies of protecting female workers' rights, including not assigning them for night duty in following the Workers' Charter to the letter as well as for its environment-friendly practices.

Every employee of Stylish Garments Group, in addition to their basic salary, receive extra payments such as attendance bonuses and other incentives, twice-yearly bonuses, an instant interest-free loan for weddings or any emergency, timely payment of EPF and ETF installments as well as providing a cash grant of Rs. 50,000/- for each and every employee who serves the company for an unbroken five year period of service, no sooner he or she achieves that land-mark.

Added to these, every employee receives free of charge breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea regularly, free transport as well as medical facilities, an insurance cover, sports facilities and opportunities for indulging in sports activities and entertainment opportunities on a monthly basis and an annual group excursion.

Such a greater number of facilities enjoyed by over a 3,000-strong work force of the Stylish Garments Group.
