Ananda 'B' trough to the final
Ananda College under-15 'B' team booked a place in the final of the
All-island inter-schools under-15 Division II cricket tournament when
the beat St Joseph's College 'B' team by 105 runs in the semi-final
played at Mercantile Cricket Association Ground. Anandians who batted
first, piled up 213 for the loss of 7 wickets with the help of several
good
knocks by Dinul Rabel (40), Sahan Lahiru (40) and Prabash Hansamal
(33) and shamen Abeygunawardene was the star bowler for the Josephians
with 3 for 31. Achila Iranga (3 for 11) and Abhishek Weerasinghe (2 for
24) did not let the joes take control of the game and Anandian bowlers
made sure that they will go through to the finalwhich will be played
tomorrow. St. Joseph's B only were able to score 108 runs, losing all
their batsmen at the end of the 46th over, giving a massive 105-run
victory for the Ananda juniors.
