The newly appointed Navy Commander, Vice Admiral Jayanath Colombage
paid a courtesy call on Air Force Commander, Air Marshal Harsha
Abeywickrama at the Air Force Headquarters last morning.
The Navy Chief was accorded a Guard of Honour upon arrival at the Air
Force Headquarters.
The two Commanders held discussions on matters of mutual interest,
especially on areas where greater inter-service coordination is
required.
The Navy Chief, whilst praising the very healthy relations existing
between the two services, expressed his wishes to further strengthen
relations and work closely with the Air Force for the common good of the
country.
The Air Force Commander pledged the fullest support of the Air Force
to the new Navy Chief in all spheres of joint action during his tenure
ahead.
The new Navy Chief was introduced to the Air Force Chief of Staff,
Air Vice Marshal Kolitha Gunatilleke and the rest of the members of the
Air Force Board of Management.
