Market shares of dyes and moulds to be increased

Sri Lanka is expected to increase its market share of dye and mould from 20 % to 45 % by the end of 2015.

The "Dye and Mould making industry is by far, one of the most essential industries for the development of the country's needs.

The demand for dyes and moulds had been rapidly increasing and the local demand for it had been 1.5 billion rupees. Unfortunately, the local dye and mould manufacturing sector had not been able to developed the industry to face the demands and challenges. Hence, only around 20% of the demand could be fulfilled," the Sri Lanka Export Development Board said.

Measures have also been taken to expand training courses and services, overseas training for trainers, to obtain the services of experts from countries such as Japan and German.
