Couple with Rs 3.7 m heroin arrested

The Police Special Task Force arrested a couple with 462 g of heroin in their possession in Maradana on Wednesday evening.

The STF said the gross value of the haul of heroin was around Rs 3.7 million. They were arrested opposite the Eye Hospital in the Maradana Police Division around 9.45 pm on Wednesday. The 40- year - old man is a resident of Dharmapala Mawatha, Borella. The 42-year-old woman is a resident of Ferguson Road, Colombo.

The raid was conducted by a group of Indtelligence Unit personnel of the STF Headquarters. The suspects and productions were handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau for further investigation.
