Norway promises more support for SL's development

The Norwegian government will provide more support for Sri Lanka's
cultural and social development programme in the Mahaweli Zones, newly
appointed Norway ambassador to Sri Lanka, Grete Lochen said. She was
participating in a meeting with Irrigation and Water Management Minister
Nimal Siripala De Silva at the ministry premisses yesterday. Ambassador
Lochen said Norway assisted to Sri Lanka in the fields of archaeology
and cultural affairs for many years.
Sri Lanka is experiencing a development boom after eradicating
terrorism and Norway will continue to extend more support in this task.
Minister Nimal Siripala De Silva, while thanking the ambassador said
Norway has always come to Sri Lanka's aid during difficult times and
this was amply demonstrated when we were affected by the 2004 tsunami.
