NWS&DB provides solution to water problem in Haliela

Following complaints made by the residents of Haliela that drinking water provided by National Water Supply and Drainage Board to the area is brown in colour, the NWS&DB has taken measures to chlorinate the water with immediate effect, Deputy General Manager NWS&DB Badulla M I A Lathiff said.

Since a mega project is currently under way in Haliela.

The area will receive purified water by December, he explained.

Meanwhile the Secretary of the Water Supply and Drainage Board Amarananda Abegunasekera said, the Ministry has singed an agreement with the US Government to construct three water supply projects in Badulla, Haliela and Ella.
