Puffing the essence of Lemon

It is dense, chewy, aromatic and delicious. That is one way of describing this lemon cream filled biscuit that has been in the markets for the past four decades.

Radiating quality, refined taste and improved texture, Maliban Lemon Puff now comes in an attractive new packaging of bright yellow and green hues. The most significant aspect about the biscuit is that it is made using natural lemon oil sans artificial flavours.

This makes it not only a product which embodies natural goodness but also one of the safest eatables in stores.

Two youth icons have been chosen to endorse the brand with its relaunch and they are non other than Bathiya and Santhush whose personalities go hand in hand with the vibrancy of the Maliban’s rejuvenation.

“Lemon Puff has been Maliban’s flagship brand for the past few years. We have relaunched the product with better quality and taste. Our product boasts of youth, energy and entertainment. We have overcome the challenge of launching a higher quality product at the same price,” Maliban Sales and Marketing CEO Ravi Jayawardana said.

Speaking at the relaunch Santhush Weeraman said that BnS too, strive to take the best of Sri Lanka to the world. “After a long time we get an entertainment brand which can be catered to the global market. We both share the same kind of sentiments in different fields. We are always looking to associate ourself with something fresh and youth oriented. It has been exciting reviving an iconic jingle which we hope all Sri Lankans can relate to. There is no doubt that both sectors will provide them with the joy and entertainment,” he said. The tangy flavoured product is popular not only in local soil but in over 20 countries including UK, Germany, France, Middle East, Canada and Australia.

“There is high demand for this product in the UK market but our priority is the local market. Instead of introducing more products to the market, we are concerned about out ingredients and the quality of our products,” Maliban Biscuit Manufacturings (Pvt) Ltd CEO Lukshman Weerasuriya added.

He notes that they concentrated more on Lemon Puff is because it is the number one flavour worldwide. “We needed to insert quality raw material into the biscuit. We have also introduced the cheese puff. This includes cheese power imported from Australia. Our cream cracker and Gold Marie are also quite popular among the consumers,” he explained. The team also launched a Facebook page for the brand at the event.
