CLC has been active in their CSR projects starting their cultural
restoration journey off with the Abhayagiriya temple and the hotel has
completed the circle with the restoration of the Galloluwa Jumma Mosque.
Setting off at 6.30am, the CLC team travelled to Minuwangoda in buses
where they started the restoration of the mosque. Standing by the John
Keells pledge “I Will Care”, the team joined by General Manager Denis
Gruhier, worked tirelessly together to restore the mosque to its former
glory.

Beginning with the main structure, the volunteers white washed the
front of the mosque cleaning the existing algae, painted the front gate
and side wall. Work continued until 5.30pm with the team clearing the
overgrown garden which stretched over four acres.
GM Denis Gruhier was proud of his team for completing the circle of
restoring four religious institutions in one year. The CLC team have
worked together representing all creeds to complete CSR projects
throughout the year, strengthening their team spirit and unity
throughout the hotel.
The members of the Galloluwa Jumma Mosque and its worshipers were
amazed at the speed in which the team worked and was taken aback by the
hard work and effort put in to gain such a positive outcome. Cinnamon
Lakeside comes a full circle with their contribution in restoring
religious structures around the country. |
