Pradeep and Apeksha win one kilometer sea swim at Matara

The Police Life Saving unit organized a one kilometer sea swim at Polhena Matara as part of the 145 year celebrations of the Sri Lanka Police force. Pradeep Sanjaya won the overall mens championship in 17 minutes and 38 seconds while Apeksha Kalupahana took the women's title in 20 minutes and 49 seconds.

Eight-year-old Sandeepa Heshan of St. Thomas' College Matara and nine year old Vihanga Dulmini of Sujatha Balika Vidyalaya were the youngest swimmers to complete the course. Thirty five competitors faced the starter.

Men's championship

Pradeep Sanjaya 17 mts 38 secs

Sanjeewa Sampath 18 mts 30 secs

Isuru Sanka 18 mts 40 secs

Malith Maduranga 18 mts 50 secs

Women's Championship

Apeksha Kalupahana 20 mts 49 secs

Madushi Hansika 22 mts 15 secs

Vihanga Dulmini 23 mts 53 secs
