Pradeep and Apeksha win one kilometer sea swim at Matara

The Police Life Saving unit organized a one kilometer sea swim at
Polhena Matara as part of the 145 year celebrations of the Sri Lanka
Police force. Pradeep Sanjaya won the overall mens championship in 17
minutes and 38 seconds while Apeksha Kalupahana took the women's title
in 20 minutes and 49 seconds.
Eight-year-old Sandeepa Heshan of St. Thomas' College Matara and nine
year old Vihanga Dulmini of Sujatha Balika Vidyalaya were the youngest
swimmers to complete the course. Thirty five competitors faced the
starter.
