Cyanide capsules among ammo haul

Naval troops attached to Mullaithivu, Pulmudai and Kanchadewa recovered a haul of grenades and ammunition in the Vellamullivaikkal area and general areas of Tenamaravadi and Allappiddi.

The detection was made following information from the public.

The Navy recovered grenades, ammunition, cyanide capsules, magazines and electrical detonators. Meanwhile, troops also recovered a hand grenade and a 60 mm mortar bomb from Tanankilappu. Demining groups recovered a 60 mm mortar bomb from Kaiyawakpulliyankulla on Tuesday.

Armed troops deployed in the East recovered one T-56 weapon, one T-56 magazine, 29 rounds of T-56 ammunition and one hand grenade from Kangikadichiaru West area.
