Minister Jayarathna turns 48

Civil Aviation Minister Priyankara Jayarathna celebrates his 48th birthday today. Minister Jayaratne entered politics through the North Western Provincial Council.

He held the posts of Deputy Minister of Youth Affairs and Deputy Speaker in Parliament before being appointed Civil Aviation Minister.

Minister Jayarathne who is functioning as the chairman of Puttalam District Development Committee is the SLFP Chief Organizer for Anamaduwa electorate.

Minister Jayarathne, the youngest Cabinet Minister produced by Royal College, Colombo is the son of Former Fisheries Minister SDR Jayarathna.
