YMMA condemns anti-Islam film
The National Council of Young Men’s Muslim Associations of Sri Lanka
in a press release has most vehemently condemned the film titled
“Innocence of Muslims”, which is blasphemous and sacrilegious to the
noble soul of Holy Prophet Muhammed (PBUH).
The release adds: “The National Council YMMA repudiates any
manifestation of scorn for beliefs or lack of respect for what is sacred
to Muslims. They further condemn desecration and slander directed at
Islam and describing Muslims as uncivilized barbarians namely in the
form of the anti-Muslim film Innocence of Muslims and this no doubt
incites hatred. The National YMMA also called for an end to prejudice
and violence against followers of Islam so that this world will be a
saner place to live in.”
“In a Press Statement, its National President M.M. Mohamed, while
denouncing this dastardly act, invoked the gravest punishment on the
perpetrators of this wilful act and to this heinous crime against the
impeccable character of the Holy Prophet.” He also expressed his
Organization’s solidarity with the fellow Muslims, in the face of the
backlash against the movie.
