"We have over the years won the hearts of customers. An organization
with good moral values and always believe in supplying the best to our
customers even if it means that we have to sacrifice making profits.
Maliban has become the strength of generations past and present and will
be the strength of generations to come, as a trusted brand name that
offers nothing but the best in terms of quality, taste and nutrition,"
Maliban Biscuit Manufactories (Pvt) Ltd CEO, D. L. Weerasuriya, said.
As the third generation biscuit manufacturers, Maliban is confident
that quality of its products will enable the company to reach the sales
targets. The newly introduced Lemon Puff is vibrant, appealing to youth,
entertaining and authentic. It will be available in more than 80,000
outlets across the country including the North and the East, he said.
"The consumers today are quite different to the consumers five years
ago. They have become more knowledgeable. Based on these consumer trends
we keep upgrading our products. The new Lemon Puff is also a result of
this. The recipe has been fine-tuned with a more creamy biscuit, and
will come out in a new packaging. A total new offering altogether,"
Maliban Sales and Marketing CEO, Ravi Jayawardena said.
Concurrent to bringing out the upgraded product, Maliban also
introduced the new brand ambassadors of Maliban Lemon Puff, pop duo and
youth icons Bathiya and Santhush, the two biggest names in the Sri
Lankan music industry. At the re-launch, a formal document was
officially signed by the celebrities to mark their agreement.
"Maliban Lemon Puff is a very vibrant rejuvenating youth brand.
Therefore, we thought it is very appropriate in endorsing two very
vibrant and popular youth icons, Bathiya and Santhush as brand
ambassadors, whose personalities will complement what this brand stands
for. The all new Maliban Lemon Puff will deliver a unique lemon
sensorial experience, which Sri Lankan consumers expect from the
pioneer," he said.
"It is an absolute pleasure to begin our association with Maliban and
specifically Lemon Puff. As artistes BnS has always tried to associate
ourselves with something fresh and youth oriented. Maliban Lemon Puff is
very much on target in that regard. It is also been exciting to revive
such an iconic jingle which we hope will reach out to all Sri Lankans
and give them the same joy and enjoyment as the delicious biscuit
itself," speaking on the initiative the new brand ambassadors Bathiya
and Santhush said.
With its remarkable tangy flavour, crispy texture and unique taste
incomparable to any other, Maliban Lemon Puff is relished not only
locally but also in 20 other countries with a marked presence in the
European market, which has been a significant achievement for the
Company.
The most noteworthy factor about Lemon Puff is the use of natural
lemon oil minus any artificial flavours, which makes it one of the
safest brands to be consumed by children. "In today's commercially
driven environment where everything boils down to rupees and cents,
people take decisions based on money. But we are very happy to say that
from a marketing point of view that Maliban does not take that route. We
always use the best ingredients whatever the cost," Jayawardena said.
Maliban Biscuit Manufactories (Pvt) Ltd. has taken innovation to a
new level with the introduction of five new products during the last
three months, a record time and has further plans for the future which
would be good news for the consumer. "There are more products of very
popular flavours in the pipeline coming out based on consumer
understanding," Strengthened by ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 22001, OHSAS
18001 certificates and various other international and national
accolades, Maliban Biscuit Manufactories (Pvt) Ltd. remains a pioneer in
the confectionary sector bringing taste and innovation throughout
generations. |
