Elephant House has a sweet solution for Sri Lanka's health conscious

Sri Lankans have been increasingly turning to healthier lifestyle options in practically every facet of their lives over the past few years. To facilitate this, many new nutrition supplements and healthier food products have flooded the market as of late, with more gyms and yoga classes cropping up across urban centers as well.

Elephant House recognised this need and impending trend long before it virtually became a phenomenon in the country and in fact released its LITE ice creams range into the market in 2008, offering health conscious people and weight watchers a delicious dessert option to indulge in without guilt, sweetened with sucralose, a US Food and Drug Authority (FDA) approved diabetic sweetener.

Irrespective of wanting to live a healthier life or being forced to do so due to illness, the LITE range offers a solution in both chocolate and vanilla flavours to please the palates of these individuals. The range is also the first locally produced low sugar-low calorie ice cream range in the country, owing to the fact that Elephant House Ice Cream has had a

continuous focus on identifying what consumers both want and need, making it accessible before others in the market have been able to do so.

Depravity should not necessarily be the first thing a person requiring a healthier lifestyle should think of when it comes to the many changes that need to take place. This is why the Elephant House LITE range offers them a chance to still indulge in sweet treats such as ice cream without guilt or worry. The range is available at all Keells Super, Arpico and Laugfs supermarkets across the country, giving health-conscious Sri Lankans access to this delicious dessert option.

Expressing his views, Head of Frozen Confectionary and Vice President of John Keells Holdings Neil Samarasinghe said: "We have maintained our position as the nation's favourite ice cream by placing consumers' needs first and giving them more options to chose from.

"This has ensured that the entire populous has a chance to indulge in the goodness and taste we offer, the LITE range being one of these options that have allowed a far greater number of people enjoy their favorite ice cream across the country."
