TMC President Emeritus Fayaz Saleem conferred CMI Companion
On the recommendation by the CMI Executive Committee of last year
headed by Keethi Jayaweera, CMI UK has awarded/upgraded the membership
of Fayaz Saleem, a Fellow of the CMI - as a COMPANION MEMBER of CMI UK.

Saleem is a past President of the Institute and one of the founders
of the local branch. CMI companions are selected on an invitation only
basis, with selection based upon an exhaustive review of the candidates'
career by CMI's Independent Assessment Panel, looking at management
impact at a strategic level. Companion is the highest category of
membership and is awarded only to individuals who have a distinguished
record of achievement in senior management. Companions form an exclusive
group of the Institute's membership.
Saleem is the Principal Consultant and Managing Director of Executive
Search Limited and affiliated group of companies and is also the
President Emeritus of The Management Club.
He spearheaded the company, Maritime International Ltd, originally a
search and Placement Company in 1978 to expand into concentrated areas.
Executive Search Limited/AIMS conducts executive search and placement
for nearly all the large corporate firms in the country and has a well
established client base overseas having placed many of the MDs. CEOs,
CFOs, CMOs and many other functional heads in Sri Lanka and the region.
Maritime Placements Ltd/MPL Outsourced Ltd likewise concentrates on the
local market at lower managerial levels. The holding company also
operates Maritime International Ltd, Maritime Property Management and
Allied Cleaning and Maintenance Ltd. Saleem is well recognized as the
pioneer head hunter in Sri Lanka.
He has been a member of CMI UK, recognized as one of the largest
management institutes worldwide for over 25 years and has over the years
provided innovative leadership to many institutions as founder. He was
the founder member of the Association of
International Standards (an ISO Consultancy Association), a founder
member of the Sri Lanka Branch of the Chartered Management Institute, UK
of which he was the President in 1999/2001 and the founder President of
the Forum of Chartered Institute which was inaugurated in March 2007.
