Niloo and Sujeewa golf champions

That versatile golfer Niloo Jayatillake (Ladies) and Sujeewa
Lankatillake (Men's) carried away the major honours at the annual club
golf championship of Victoria Golf and Country Resort sponsored by
Noritake Limited and worked off a the Victoria golf course at Rajawella
off Kandy.
That
golfer Niloo Jayatillake continued her run of success and proved once
again that Victoria was one of her happy hunting grounds when she won
the Club championship for the second year in running. In this two round
championship she reeled off scores of 81 and 85 to make a total of 165.
Though she did not win the rounds individually her overall performance
was easily the best. In February this year she won the Pam Fernando
Trophy at the Donald Steel Golf Championship and followed up by winning
the Tony Whitham Trophy at the Mark Bostock Memorial Golf Championship
and completed a triple in gross events.
Sujeewa Lankatillake took the Club Championship for men getting
combined gross total of 155. He got scores of 81 and 74. Sujeewa
Lankatillake who has returned to the country after a stay in Dubai won
the Ken Balendra Trophy at the Mark Bostock Golf Championship. With age
he appears to be getting better.
Sumithra Ukkwate Dayananda's return to the country after a 22 year
stay in Nepal has yielded results as she won three prizes and Indira
Tibblin with two prizes. Suwen Selvaratnam was the Ladies Combined Nett
Winner getting a total of 150. |
