‘Prosperous future for country under President’

‘The country is being directed towards a prosperous future under the
guidance of President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Indigenous Medicine Deputy
Minister Pandu Bandaranayake said.
He said Pre-school teaching programme which had been planned by the
Pandu Bandaranayake Foundation is being implemented throughout the
Gampaha district.
This programme is not implemented with a political agenda in mind.
The programme is being implemented as a social service, he said. The
minister was addressing a handicrafts exhibition organized by Pre-school
teachers in Negombo recently.
It was held at Udayartoppuwa school in Negombo.
This was organized by the Pandu Bandaranayake Foundation.
This exhibition was held as part of the activities of the the Pandu
Bandaranayake Foundation . At present the Pandu Bandaranayaka Foundation
is implementing a Pre-school teachers training programme for the Gampaha
District Pre -School teachers.
Along with the handicrafts exhibition and art exhibition of
pre-school children was also held. “This programme should be expanded
among other women in the district who could make a vast contribution
through this programme, he said. “Nena Suwa” programme is also
implemented by the Indigenous Medicine Ministry countrywide. Under this
programme adults as well as children are educated about diseases.
“Awards were presented to winners of the art exhibition at the end of
the programme. Chairperson of Gampaha Women Organization Jeevani Namal
Dias Bandaranayake, Manager of Union Assurance Negombo Anton Chandana
Raaj, National Education Institute Director H A Sunil also participated
in the event. |
