Mitchell said that their services are not only offered to new hotels and corporate officers but also to existing properties as well. “We offer modern lighting consultations which are greener and more energy sufficient which helps to reduce the energy bill by over 30 %,” he said. Neolight, an eight year old company also has officers in Malaysia and Dubai and they hope to look after the Indian and the Maldives market from their Colombo office. “Several foreign consultants would also be working in Sri Lanka,” he said. He said that they had already done pre- marketing and they have succeeded in contracting around five hotels to do business with deals worth around one million.

He said that that this concept though new to Sri Lanka, is common in the world construction area with lighting consultants’ expertise being hired for hotels, apartments, corporate offers and for super market projects. neolight does not get involved in providing equipment but only provide technical guidance. “What we do is give our expertise to get better lighting from limited lighting points.
