Country making rapid progress - Deputy minister

"In the forthcoming election, you can request your kith and kin to
cast their votes in favour of this government in view of the colossal
amount of work carried out in the country in such a short period of
time," said External Affairs Deputy Minister Neomal Perera.

He was speaking after unveiling a plaque to open the newly carpeted
road- in front of the Jumma Mosque on Puttalam Road, Chilaw on August
25.
Funds for the project were provided from the decentralised budget
from Road Development Deputy Minister Nirmala Kotelawala on a request
made by Wayamba Provincial Council member A.H.M. Niaz. The deputy
minister said "the resettlement programme was underway to provide speedy
relief to the distressed persons.
He said President Mahinda Rajapaksa has rendered a magnanimous
service by taking constructive measures to uplift the living standards
of the people.
"Large investment opportunities are now available, realising the
great potential of economic gains that can accrue to investors on the
long run in view of the government's achievements and rapid progress
made in a short term of governance," the Deputy Minister emphasised.
