Kuchchaveli to get more tourist resorts

The proposed Kuchchaveli Tourism Zone(KTZ) in Trincomalee will get
another tourist resort. A leading investor has purchased A 20 acre land
at KTZ to built the proposed resort. The Kuchchaveli zone caters to the
growing demand for star hotels in the East and will also be in line with
the Sri Lankan government vision to increase tourist arrivals to 2.5
million by 2016.
Jungle Beach, the first hotel built within the Kuchchaveli tourism
zone was also opened in June this year and the hotel was built at a cost
of Rs 750 million. The Sri Lankan government is going to develop tourism
as a major economic sector of the country.
There are big potential for hotels, skill development,shopping malls
and recreational facilities in relation to the tourism sector. After the
end of terrorism many hotels were opened across the island while major
tourism development projects have come up in Kalpitiya and Delft
Islands. |
